Recycling Clothes

“If you really think the environment is less important than the economy, try holding your breath while you count your money.” Dr. Guy Mc Pherson

Every year millions of dollars are going to waste in used garments  only in United States, if we talking about all the world is a scandalous amount of money,  consumerism  is a global problem the same than pollution.

Our usual clothes are made from 4 basic materials: cotton, wool, silk and synthetic fibers.

Synthetic fibers such as nylon, perle, and lycra are made from petroleum derivatives, and their manufacture generates significant air pollution.

Another example is polyester is a synthetic fiber, the production generates CO2 and other contaminating substances, it consumes large amounts of water and its catalyst is carcinogenic and toxic to humans. When it is washed it gives off fibers that go to the rivers, the sea and the fish that with all those toxics we then ingest. This type of products takes a long time to decompose.

In addition to the contamination and toxicity of the materials we have the problems generated by the fashion industry, that produce 150 million garments annually. Enough to give a wardrobe full of clothes to every habitant of the planet.

It is truly worrying this situation due to the degree of pollution which help to worsen the global warming situation.

The question is what we can do to help our planet?

Here are some recommendations:

Applying the three R (reduce, reuse, recycle) this means buying less garments preferably of better quality, buying second hand and ecological clothes

Promote barter markets and Upcycling also known as supra recycling to create products that have a higher value than the one that had the original material or what is the same that transform waste into valuables.

Recycling more than a decision is a responsibility of every individual living in the planet, we have no another planet to go. A small change in your habits can make a big difference. The generations of the future will be grateful.

Reciclaje textil

Reciclando, ropa, medio ambiente

Teatox or Detox Tea

It’s a new method to eliminate toxins from our body and help of infusions of herbs from china mostly

They emphasize its properties as much diuretic as antioxidants. The ultimate goal as usually happens in this type of food routine is to clean the body in a totally natural and simple.

It provides substances such as caffeine to stimulate the digestive system, eliminate accumulated lipids, potent antioxidants such as flavonoids, bronchodilators such as theophylline and anti-inflammatories such as tannin that act against specific digestive problems.

Red tea

This is one of the most treated tea varieties needing in some cases a fermentation process that can last several decades

In the West it has become quite popular because of its low content of caffeine, making it an optimal drink for almost any time of the day and with properties for fat elimination, preventing cholesterol, is purifying, stimulates the digestion of food, benefits the work Hepatic, detoxifies and strengthens the immune system.

White tea

It is the less processed variety of this type of herbs and therefore, according to several experts in tea, they provide more nutrients than other infusions of the same family and is also healthier

In this sense and because of its high content both in catechins and polyphenols, white tea is able to fight free radicals while decreasing the bad cholesterol level in the blood.

Organic cosmetics and Natural cosmetics

Organic cosmetics can be defined as 100% natural products made under strict standards that take care of the environment and skin.

In cosmetics, organic products are those that use raw materials of natural origin such as fats and vegetable extracts, waxes and essential oils grown without chemicals, pesticides or agrochemicals.

The key concept in organic matters is traceability: That is to say that the sowing, the care, the harvesting of the fruit and then the transformation into oil, gel or others and its later elaboration in a laboratory are done according to what the normative.

Difference between natural and organic

Although often the natural word is used as a synonym for organic, not everything that looks bio, it is. Organic products require certification that they have been grown and processed according to controlled agricultural standards.

Differences between organic cosmetics and conventional cosmetics

When we choosing natural cosmetics it is important to understand that their elaboration, smell, texture and presentation is different from that of conventional products which contain a good dose of synthetic assets.

Textures

They tend to be more liquid and oily since they do not use silicones (petroleum derivatives) or artificial thickeners.

Colors

Since it does not contain dyes and additives the products are in the range of brown and yellow greens

Security

An organic product is not synonymous with hypoallergenic. There are organisms that react to certain trees and plants. The ideal is to know the ingredients and know whether or not we are allergic to them.

Durability

They do not have the same shelf life as those made with chemical preservatives. They usually last from 6 to 12 months

Tags

Look for certification seals and read the components.

In my next article I will talk about some of the natural cosmetics that I use, their benefits properties and how to analyze the information contained in the labels to make sure they have the requirements of bio cosmetics.

 Pink Himalayan salt

The pink Himalayan salt is a type of mineral salt from the mountains of Pakistan. It is considered the purest salt and free of contaminants of the world. It is known as “rose gold”. The Himalayan salt contains 84 trace elements such as calcium, iron, magnesium and potassium as opposed to the common salt that only contains 2. Its pink color comes from iron.

The refined table salt is basically sodium chloride, it has been chemically purified. On the other hand, sea salt is a “healthy” alternative that many opt to the detriment of common salt. Yet it is easy to understand that according to the state of pollution of our oceans today this salt is not as healthy as many think.

The Himalayan salt is of organic origin contains all the elements found in our body and mixed with water gives us all its energy. It has curative properties and can improve conditions in case of suffering from some diseases such as irregular heartbeat or arrhythmia, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, low libido, heartburn, sinus congestion, renal failure, decrease Muscle tone and low levels of serotonin and melatonin among others. In addition to balancing the pH of the cells, it prevents the aging of the organism.

This salt is a real super food that besides giving flavor to the meals is beneficial for our health. Unfortunately it is not very easy to get in all countries besides Europe and the United States.
